About the organization
Dhammadeepa Foundation was inaugurated in January 2005 as a result of a collective desire to help innocent people who were devastated by Tsunami. Not limiting its vision on serving the Tsunami victims, Dhammadeepa Foundation operates to fulfill the following aims and objectives covering the whole of Sri Lanka.
- To establish a spiritual, educational social, healthly and an economic background for the creation of a disciplined, cultured society and Sri Lanka as a Dhamma Deepa.
- To conduct regular religious services, while enhancing the protection of Buddha Sasana.
- Provision of relief services to the needy (Asarana Sarana Seva) under various projects.
- To cultivate qualities of virtue through education
- For activities of economic development
- To award scholarships to school children with financial difficulties.
- Visit villages in remote areas that are as yet under developed, identifying the day to day difficulties of the villagers, and providing relief services.
- To identify calamities pertaining to S?sana and national disasters, organizing appropriate methods to overcome them.
Unlike most of welfare organizations, Dhammadeepa foundation completely operates on voluntary service basis where no member receiving any benefits financial or otherwise. This unique factor ensures every cent received towards its projects is directed and disbursed towards the beneficiaries of each project.
